Course Details:

The Pivot Steer Forklift (commonly known as a Bendi or Flexi lift truck) has an articulated mast that makes them multifunctional and incredibly versatile in the warehouse. This eliminates double handling of loads as well as optimising storage space in the workplace.

We use the latest training techniques, combining theory and practical exercises, in accordance with HSE and RTITB Guidelines and we continually achieve high success rates.

Successful candidates will be certificated, and will receive a certificate of training.

  • The operator's safety code
  • Safety video relevant to Pivot Steer Lift Trucks
  • Associated knowledge training and test
  • Introduction to the Pivot Steer lift truck to be used
  • Daily pre-use inspection and maintenance techniques and procedures
  • Battery care
  • Safe use of controls and instruments on the Pivot Steer
  • Load weight assessment and Lift Truck Stability Factors
  • Safely starting, moving and stopping the Pivot Steer Lift Truck
  • Manoeuvring safely in open and confined areas
  • Safe operation of the hydraulic controls
  • Handling unladen and laden pallets
  • Safe stacking and destacking techniques in an industrial racking system
  • Practical test of basic operating skills
  • How old do I need to be to operate a forklift?

    The HSE Approved Code of Practice and Guidance states that those under minimum school leaving age (16 years of age) should never operate lift trucks.

  • When is refresher training required?

    At least once every 3-5 years. Or sooner if an accident has occurred, or non-use for a long period of time. The certificates we issue expire after 3 years as per RTITB standards.

  • What is the legal training requirements for operating lift trucks?

    The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER) place certain requirements on employers. You MUST make sure that all people who use, supervise or manage the use of work equipment have received ‘adequate training’.

  • Does Euro Shaf have qualified instructors?
